Warranty Information.

New Build SolarVMS Warranty Policy 

The Pinpoint VMS unit has been designed and tested to operate in a marine environment and carries a 2 year manufacturer warranty. 

If a VMS device fails within the 2 year warranty timeframe and cannot be remotely repaired Pinpoint Earth will recall the unit either to base or to distribution partner where trained repairers will conduct diagnostic tests on the unit to ascertain the cause of the fault. 

Refurbished or trade-in VMS Policy

A trade in or Refurbished VMS unit carries a 12 month warranty only.

If a refurbished or trade-in VMS device fails within the 12 month warranty timeframe and cannot be remotely repaired Pinpoint Earth will recall the unit either to base or to distribution partner where trained repairers will conduct diagnostic tests on the unit to ascertain the cause of the fault. 

Confirmed Faulty Unit inside warranty period 

If any fault is found which is due to faulty products or manufacture Pinpoint Earth will inform the customer and cover: 

- Costs of diagnostic tests on the product. 
- All costs relating to the repair or the replacement of the unit
- Return shipping of new/repaired unit back to customer

Confirmed Fault caused by user 

If any fault is found to be caused by user / customer either through accident or activities deemed to be outside of normal use during warranty, Pinpoint Earth will inform the customer of the cost to replace the product, and charge the customer for: 

- All costs relating to the removal of the faulty device from the vessel. 
- Costs of diagnostic tests on the product. 
- All costs relating to the repair or replacement of the unit unit. 
- All shipping costs relating to the faulty and replacement unit. 

Confirmed Faulty Unit outside warranty period 

If the faulty unit is outside of the 2 year warranty time frame the customer will be informed regarding the cost for diagnostic test to ascertain damage, and told prior to repair the replacement/repair cost for the unit. 

Product remains property of the user at all times, unless replaced with new equipment. The faulty equipment will become the property of Pinpoint Earth on exchange.
